We are looking for an outstanding teacher with high expectations of students to teach A-level Economics at City and Islington Sixth Form College. The subject is a popular choices for students at the Sixth Form with over 200 A-level Economics students currently on roll. City and Islington Sixth Form College is well-established and over-subscribed. We are situated on one site at the Angel, in the heart of London, and our wonderful students travel from across the city to learn with us. All teachers are tutors to a pastoral group of up to 22 A-level students and we have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students' confidence and skills.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach Economics A-level. The ability to teach A-level Business studies would be welcome but is not essential.
Take part in subject meetings, departmental meetings and professional development days.
Contribute to curriculum planning.
Monitor students' progress using ProMonitor and contribute to the evaluation of results in the relevant subject areas.
Act as a pastoral tutor to a group of Year 12 or Year 13 students
Qualifications and Experience
PGCE or equivalent
Experience of teaching Economics at A-level, with proven success. The ability to teach A-level Business studies would be welcome but is not essential.
Experience of curriculum planning and assessing A-level Economics work.
Experience of working with 16-19 year olds and an understanding of the curriculum and pastoral needs of this age group
