Job Title: Residential Childcare Assessor – Children and Young People
*Trainee or Qualified Opportunity*

Location: Scotland – Must be flexible with travel

Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 + Bonus

*Trainee Assessor* To Apply, Trainee applicants must meet the essential skills below;
(Full training and support will be given to Trainee candidates to achieve the Assessors award)
• Must hold an SVQ 4 in Social Services / Children and Young People OR equivalent.
• Relevant registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
• Experience of working within a Residential Childcare Environment at Senior / Management level.
• Confident to deliver Core Skills (Maths / English) to learners – training provided.
• Ideally have previous experience of delivering on-the-job training to colleagues within a care environment.

Duties include:
• Delivering full SVQ Apprenticeships in Social Services (CYPW / Residential Childcare) levels 3/4 including Core Skills (Maths / English) to level 2.
• Visiting/observing learners in their place of work to gather evidence towards their Apprenticeship/SVQ qualifications.
• Targeted to actively recruit learners to grow your own caseload and maintain size of caseload through marketing and sales activities.
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.

Essential Criteria:
• Must hold an SVQ 4 in Social Services / Children and Young People OR equivalent.
• Relevant registration or qualification with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
• Experience of working within a Residential Childcare Environment at Senior / Management level.
• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
• Quality driven and prepared to go the extra mile for your learners.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.

Desirable Criteria: (NOT ESSENTIAL)
• Recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.
• Experience of delivering Apprenticeships in CYPW / Residential Childcare including Core Skills.
