Job Title: Apprentice Training Team Leader
Location: BMW Group Academy / Regional Locations (Plant Reading)

Purpose of role: Responsible for the management and development of the Apprentice Training team to deliver outstanding learner support and deliver progression in a timely manner.

Person specification
• Lead the Apprentice Trainer team to deliver agreed financial and performance targets
• Provide direction, communicate goals and agree delivery strategies with the team
• Support the Apprentice Training in the effective development of expansion programmes
• Has a minimum of three years’ experience of managing staff to maximise productivity, implement change and deal with conflict
• Ensure compliance to funding body and other client contracts and to external assessment and quality procedures, including awarding organisations for ISO, Matrix, IiD, IiP and Ofsted/ETi/ESTYN
• Ensure the team complies with all internal and external procedures and quality measures
• Ensure the Etrack MIS and learner management system is fully utilised to manage and monitor learner progress and staff performance to maximise productivity and quality and increase efficiencies
• Provide direction to the team ensuring effective communication of targets and performance
• Support recruitment and selection of staff in line with company HR procedures
• Complete observations of all members of the team, in line with support requirements and which include grades on job observations and collection of learner and employer feedback
• Ensure Babcock Security, Health and Safety, Environmental, Equality, Diversity and Welfare policies and procedures are followed at all times within all areas of responsibility
• Work in collaboration with the Academy Quality team to ensure the quality of training is in line with organisation requirements.
• Review the performance of the team and individuals, ensuring the achievement of all key performance indicators and address any under performance
• Deliver circa 80 – 100 days face to face training per annum.

Technical Skills / competencies:
• Proven track record of consistently achieving financial and performance targets
• Experience of managing across a variety of occupational sectors
• Demonstrates a high level of organisational skills and financial awareness
• Strong customer relationship development skills
• Effective management of resources
• Experience of managing people and operations
• Applies flexibility, imagination, innovation and creative problem solving techniques
• Clear proactive approach to planning
• Competent at interpreting a wide range of financial information
• Competent at understanding and interpreting reports

• Cert Ed/PGCE
• Industry related qualifications such as HND, or NVQ’s
• Functional Skills are desirable

Role Information
• Completive Salary
