Salary £16,409.00 per annum pro rata
Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
They now have an opportunity available for a Learning Resources Assistant to join them on a part time basis; assisting the Learning Resources Manager (LRM) and team in creating an information environment that supports, facilitates and enhances the teaching, learning, research and business activities of the College.
Opening up (and closing) the Learning Resources Centre (LRC) as required ensuring correct procedures are followed, you will deal with users’ enquiries, help them to identify the most suitable learning materials and ensure that the LRC remains an environment conducive for studying. You must also carry out basic library support (issuing and returning books and re-shelving) and carry out routine administrative duties as required by the Learning Resources Manager.
Working hours for this role are as follows: 29.5 hours per week
Monday – 9.00am – 5.00pm
Tuesday – 12.30pm – 5.00pm
Wednesday – 8.00am – 5.00pm
Thursday – 12.30pm – 5.00pm
Friday – 12.30pm – 5.00pm
Candidates for this role will have experience of working in a library or information environment, of using Microsoft Office and working successfully as part of a team. Customer focused with good written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to work without supervision and have an organised approach to your work.
Experience in the use of computerised library management systems is desirable but is not an essential requirement for the role.
