Our client aims to increase the skills of colleagues along with creating a range of employment and training opportunities within the communities they serve. They have two training academies in Rotherham and Brentwood – serving both the north and south respectively. This enables them to help reduce the skills shortage in the sector, encourage more women into trades-based employment, remove the stigma attached to apprenticeships while increasing the skills of their own workforce.
Joining them as a Training Centre Manager in Brentwood, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the training centre. This includes, reception, catering, coordinating courses with branch managers and trainers, procurement and logistics.
You will communicate effectively with branches and trainers to schedule induction and training activities and, if necessary, be able to deliver elements of the induction programme with minimum time for preparation.
You will procure and receive the necessary tools and equipment necessary for all new members of staff and for the centre to operate as well as negotiating with internal and external suppliers as required.
In addition, you will produce detailed programmes for events (e.g. timelines, staffing, resources, plan room layout) and will organise facilities for delivery of vans, stocks traffic control, security, first aid, booking of hotels and assisting with travel arrangements.
Furthermore, the successful candidate must be able to establish and maintain quality systems and procedures for all training programmes to ensure that the academy meets all requirements of Governing Bodies. Ensuring procedures and updates are maintained as per Governing bodies, SFA and company policies, you will also carry out effective communications with Governing bodies & manage External Verification visits.
In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have experience of coordinating people and resources against set timelines along with experience of working within a business or commercial environment. Previous experience of presenting to a wide variety of groups and audiences is also essential along with a valid full UK driving licence.
