Our client is one of the UK’s largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five sites, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.

The Lecturer in Electronics will join their Deeside site and deliver in the areas of Electronics. You will carry out scheduled teaching, prepare learning materials, mark students’ work, liaise with awarding bodies as required and exam invigilation.

You will act as a personal tutor and provide educational guidance, support and counselling for students and liaise with tutors from other areas of the college to plan resources, develop the curriculum and monitor student progress.

You will need to complete and produce documentation such as registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation and student reports. You will assist with marketing, planning, assessment and evaluation of course provision and be involved in the recruitment and interviewing of students when required.

Identifying, interpreting and applying specific knowledge to practice, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and recognise and make students aware of their strengths and development needs. Creative, innovative and imaginative, you should be self-confident and display energy and enthusiasm within the learning environment.

You will be qualified to least Level 3 in Electronics but ideally to Degree Level. You will hold or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or City & Guilds 7407. With an awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, you will have knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment and demonstrate and understanding of current developments within your own specialist area.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is highly desirable.

A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position and you will also be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.
