Joining them as an Assessor, you will train and assess students on College programmes and, in particular, contribute to the Engineering Curriculum and it’s work with the delivery of NVQ’s and Apprenticeships in Electrical Installation.
Coordinating courses and providing relevant student support, you will work with Curriculum Managers to recruit students to meet current targets and ensure that all allocated students and their employers have completed the necessary enrolment documentation, taking an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation. Attending curriculum planning and assessment standardisation meetings, you will report student progress and take appropriate actions to help students overcome any difficulties which they may have with the completion of the qualification within the agreed timescales.
They are looking for an individual who has a demonstrated ability to teach, train, assess and communicate at a level appropriate to the students and in a way that recognises their different learning needs and abilities. You should have a relevant vocational qualification at Level 3, an Assessor Award and proven experience of teaching / training and assessing NVQ’s in Electrical Installation.
With the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work in a pressurised environment, you will have excellent organisational skills and experience of successfully working as part of a team. You will need to have supervisory / management experience in a relevant occupational area and be competent in work based learning and assessment. An understanding of the National Vocational Qualification framework and code of practice is a must, as is knowledge of the range of assessment and accreditation strategies for young people and adults engaged in further education.
