Casual Hourly Paid
Our client is one of the UK’s largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five campuses, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.
They are now looking to appoint a Lecturer to replenish the bank of Hourly Paid Lecturing staff for their Uniformed Services curriculum areas SD024/25.
Within the role, you will be responsible for performing scheduled teaching, preparing learning materials, marking students work, liaising with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required. In your role as lecturer, you will also be providing invaluable educational support and guidance for students and liaise with parents as necessary. You must complete and produce agreed documentation such as attendance reports, schemes of work, course review, course analysis documentation and student reports.
The successful candidate will hold a Level 4 qualification in Uniformed Services and possess or be working towards a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or C&G 7407. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments, and should have knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these within a learning environment.
In addition, it is essential that you are proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, and are able to navigate the Internet and Intranets. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be a strong team player and will display energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
Candidates with a Masters level relevant qualification would be advantageous as this would allow you to deliver the future HE curriculum offer.
The ability to speak fluent Welsh is highly desirable to support the development of a bilingual curriculum and to develop incidental Welsh speaking skills amongst their students.
