You will handle estate administration matters from initial notification of death through to final completion, including:

  • Meeting with bereaved families and providing guidance throughout the administration process.
  • Arranging property insurance and appointing solicitors where required.

  • Collecting in estate assets and preparing estate accounts, allocation statements, and R185 certificates.
  • Ensuring records are well maintained and easily accessible.
  • Developing strong family relationships and identifying opportunities to retain assets and introduce new business.

Skills & Experience

  • Sound knowledge of wills and lasting powers of attorney, with practical experience in these areas.
  • Awareness of post-death tax planning opportunities, including Deeds of Variation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with bereaved clients.
  • Confidence handling estates comprising a wide range of asset types.
