Principal - North Lindsey College - part of DN Colleges Group

c. £105,000 plus final salary pension and benefits

Due to promotion we seek a new Principal to lead North Lindsey College and work closely with the Group Chief Executive, the peer Principal at Doncaster College and the Senior Leadership Team to build on the success of the DN Colleges Group.

Over the last few years more than £30m has been invested in North Lindsey College including an iconic Engineering Training Centre and the recent development of a dedicated University Campus adjacent to the main site. The College is set on the edge of Scunthorpe and will continue to play a key role in providing the skills that are so important in building aspirations and increasing economic prosperity. The successful applicant will thrive in this local leadership role, further enhancing the North Lindsey Colleges reputation for partnership and collaborative working across the public sector, with employers and across the wider community.

Following a successful merger in 2017, DN Colleges Group is thriving and making a significant contribution to the transformation of its communities in South Yorkshire (Doncaster College) and Northern Lincolnshire (North Lindsey College). We are a large College Group delivering education and training to more than 13,000 students, over 2,000 apprentices and 2,500 Higher Education students, making us one of the largest providers of HE in the FE sector. DN Colleges is stable, financially secure, employs 1,300 staff and has an annual turnover in excess of £50m.

DN Colleges Group plays a pivotal role in widening participation, offering a rich curriculum mix bespoke to the needs of individuals, employers and the wider community. The Colleges have recently been successful in securing several projects that will assist in enhancing our offer still further including offering T Levels from 2021 and being an anchor partner in the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology in partnership with the University of Lincoln and other FE colleges.

This role will appeal to an individual with the talent and ambition required to be an inspiring educational leader who is passionate about the life changes education and training can provide. You may be a Principal in a smaller College, a high-performing Deputy or Vice Principal or an exceptional Assistant Principal ready to take the lead. You will be value driven and have a strong curriculum background and demonstrate a track record of successful curriculum design and delivery, quality assurance and improvement. You will certainly have worked in a high-performing college, and have the drive, rigour and tenacity to lead us to even stronger growth and outcomes. No matter what your previous experience (that may be FE, HE and/or Apprenticeships), it must include a strong commercial acumen and a track record of innovation and creativity.

North Lindsey College is within easy commutable distance from Doncaster, Hull, Grimsby, Sheffield and Lincoln.

The DN Colleges Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff and volunteers must therefore be willing to apply for DBS clearance at an Enhanced level.

We are recognised as a Disability Confident employer, Mindful Employer and also positively encourage applications from all ethnic backgrounds.
