Protocol is delighted to be working with an education provider in Oxfordshire in the recruitment to the position of Head of MIS and Examinations.
The post holder will be accountable for the leadership, management and facilitation of MIS systems and Examinations and oversee the database administration or core business applications within the College and the development and maintenance of appropriate links between these.
Develop and implement a Business Intelligence strategy which provides accurate, timely and accessible data to inform College decisions at all levels drawing together student, HR, Finance and other information.
Ensure the College has access to the information it requires to monitor performance against plans, identify risk, inform key performance indicators and monitor performance against external measures.
Oversee the develop and maintenance of a suite of easily accessible reports and dashboards which enable staff, managers, the College leadership team and governors to understand performance at all levels.
Lead on the student record system, ensuring the system is fit for purpose, streamlining processes, developing online data management systems, supporting the move to electronic records, and maintaining clean and compliant records.
To provide sound advice and guidance to SLT and curriculum leaders on changes to funding methodologies and new funding strategies, to ensure funding is maximised and regulations are adhered to.
Stay abreast of changes to funding and performance measures.
Accurately forecast funding, learner number and achievement rate outcomes across the College.
Be responsible for ensuring that the College's data controls are robust, all date used to inform the ILR is accurate and meets all internal and external audit requirements by the ESFA and other funding agencies.
To lead the Exams function by supporting and managing the Exams Operation Lead to:
Maintain high quality exams provision that supports learner success and meets both JCQ and awarding body requirements.
Ensure that all exams are delivered and co-ordinated effectively with appropriate planning, resource and invigilation.
To work with the Exams Operational Lead to ensure the student record system is recording examination entries and outcomes effectively.
The person & qualifications
Relevant first degree and/or Professional Qualification in a related area.
High degree or Professional Management Qualification (desirable).
An excellent understanding of the funding mechanism within Further Education (desirable).
Substantial relevant experience of direct control of management information delivery, including the effective development, deployment and leadership of staff in this area plus others i.e. Student Enrolment/Exams.
Good experience of Unit-E (desirable).
Knowledge of the FE sector, in particular policy developments in relation to issues which will impact upon management information within an FE environment (desirable).
