Job Title: Food and Drink Manufacturing Assessor

Location: Essex - Candidates must be flexible with travel

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

Type: Full time, Permanent

Duties include:

Assess and support learners working towards Apprenticeships in Food and Drink Processing, Level 2 and Level 3.

Deliver training and support learners with Functional Skills Maths and English to level 2.

Visiting/observing learners in their place of work to gather evidence towards their QCF Diploma.

Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.

Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.

Support, advise and motivate learners.

Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.

Meet Assessor KPI’s in terms of timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration.

Work to learner review and completion timescales.

Assessors are expected to work closely with the sales/business development team to secure and pass on new learner leads / secure new starts in order to maintain caseload.


*We are happy to hear from candidates who hold an Assessor award, along with the occupational competency within Food and Drink operations, who haven't yet had the opportunity to assess Apprenticeships*

Recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.

Must hold at least 5 years experience within Food and Drink operations, with knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments, stock control, quality, food science and technology etc.

Must hold own Food Safety and HACCP qualifications, at level 4.

Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of a vehicle.

Must be flexible with travel and visiting learners outside of the normal 9-5 working hours due to some learners working late shifts.

Personal Skills:

Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.

Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.

Quality driven and prepared to go the extra mile for your learners.
