Associate Teacher In Motor Vehicle

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Teacher within the Motor Vehicle department at City College Southampton.
The Motor Vehicle department has outstanding facilities which cater for full time learners from Level 1 to Level 3 and Light & Heavy vehicle Level 2 and 3 apprentices. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Light Vehicle and/or Heavy vehicle mechanics.
Working from our St Marys site, your role will focus primarily on delivering outstanding teaching and learning. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Senior Teacher and Learning Manager for the area to ensure teaching practice is developed and assessment processes followed in accordance with award body criteria.
This post is suitable for someone considering their first teacher post; applicants will be offered the opportunity to study for a level 3 teacher qualification, attendance will be in your own time but course fees are paid for by the college.
Candidates will be required to evidence a successful track record in working in the motor trade and hold a relevant Level/Part3 certificate in Motor Vehicle mechanics.
The hourly rate as advertised is a range within the band and your appointment will be based upon your skills, experience and qualifications. Hours of work for this role are flexible and not guaranteed. You are free to accept or decline offers of work and the Corporation is under no obligation to offer you engagements or re-engagement. The hourly rate includes an enhancement for annual leave and lesson preparation / marking.
