Permanent, Part Time (33 hours per week over 35 weeks)

Our client is currently looking to appoint a Learning Assistant to provide learning support for students within the mainstream college and Life Skills Centre on their Northop campus.

You will provide students with additional learning needs, physical disabilities or sensory impairments with educational and practical support in the classroom, on college organised external visits and within other outreach centres when required. You will liaise with the Additional Support Coordinator, zoned Study Skills Tutor and teaching staff to ensure the delivery of an effective service.

If you are educated in English and Maths at grade C or above and have experience of working with people with learning difficulties or disabilities, then we would love to hear from you. Consideration will also be given to applicants who can demonstrate experience within their personal circumstances.

You will be proactive and self-motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have an understanding of general support needs for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. You will be a strong team player, have a positive attitude and enjoy a flexible work environment

Qualifications and/or experience in relevant topics such as Autism, BSL Sign Language, Makaton or personal care will be advantageous. Priority will be given to applicants who can demonstrate experience in an educational support role.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable.
