Tribal’s vision is to empower the world of education and we make it our mission to provide solutions which underpin student success.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for technology to join a global company and start your career as a Software Tester by pursuing an apprenticeship with us here at Tribal.
What does the role involve?
The role of the Junior Software Tester role is to develop a deep understanding and detailed knowledge of test strategy and processes, and the software development lifecycle, in order to significantly contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of Tribal software through various test methodologies so that customer expectations are surpassed.
As a Junior Software Tester, you will develop an understanding and working knowledge of the fundamental test processes, along with building your knowledge of the software development lifecycle procedures, (e.g. Scrum, Waterfall) and test strategy. You will test systems using recognised test methodologies and manual techniques and you will provide feedback on the suitability of software for release, appropriately escalating risks and concerns to Scrum Masters and/or Team Leads.
You will work closely with developers and other testers to ensure appropriate level of tests are defined during the test phase. You will also provide third-line support and domain expertise to help the Development team with the resolution of queries/defects. All of this will form a solid base for your apprenticeship and your ongoing careers within a busy development team.
With a focus on cutting edge and future technologies, the i-graduate and Benchmarking Technical Development Team develops and maintains a range of web-based applications and back-end server functions which form a central part of Tribal’s Benchmarking business.
As part of a highly skilled and well-respected team you will be a stakeholder in technical decisions which have a direct effect on the outputs of the business. The team is proud of having a flat structure where everyone’s opinion counts.
What experience and skills do I need?
You don’t need loads of professional experience in IT. However, you’ll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and IT / Science and ideally, an A-Level or equivalent such as BTEC or Level 3 Apprenticeship.
You also need strong analytical skills and an aptitude for problem solving as well as having excellent attention to detail too, and not forgetting a passion for software and technology!
What can Tribal offer me?
This is a great opportunity to join a team of creative, innovative and motivated professionals as we continue with our commitment to develop market leading software solutions. We offer competitive salaries and great benefits including pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and a healthcare cash plan where you claim for medical costs such as dental and optical.
