Who are FE Careers?
FE Careers is the Further Education and Work Based Learning job advertising website. We are a website that advertises job vacancies for clients across the whole of FE and WBL. We are not an agency or the end employer, but an online job advertising site where Further Education and Work Based Learning organisations advertise their vacancies to attract you to apply to their jobs in their organisation.
If you are new to the concept of online job advertising, you could see FE Careers as a very similar service to the jobs section of a newspaper, where advertisers place advertisements in the publication to attract you to their job vacancies.
Our advertisers place job ad’s across the whole Further Education sector. The vast majority of our advertisers are seeking experienced and qualified FE and WBL professionals for job vacancies across the UK. Some of our advertisers are also looking for Further Education specialists for international Education roles across the World (some of our advertisers have recently had Further Education vacancies in the Middle East and Europe).

Advertisers range from FE Colleges, Training Providers, Education Recruiters, Awarding Bodies, Funding Bodies, Sector Skills Councils and Charities. FE Careers is the online job advertising website for Further Education and Work Based Learning organisations. Our advertisers post Further Education job adverts, to attract you to their vacancies.
How do I apply for a job?
Click here to complete a job search. When you see a job that sounds interesting to you, click on the job title to see more information about the role. If you would like to apply for the role, click apply.
You have two options on how to apply for a job. You can either sign up to the FE Careers system (where you can choose to receive jobs via email or set up an RSS feed to receive the latest jobs direct to your desktop) or you can apply direct to the advertisers job) – so we do all of the hard work in hunting for your next career move for you. Or you just apply for the role that you like. By confirming your email address, writing a short cover note and uploading your CV to send to the advertiser.
What is Job’s via Email?
‘Jobs Via Email’ is a free service for all FE Careers job seeker subscribers. This is an ‘opt in’ service, where you select the criteria of the types of jobs that you would like to receive via email. This is an automatic matching service, matching your criteria for jobs that will be of interest, with the criteria that advertisers are seeking. Basically Jobs Via Email takes all of the hard work out of hunting for your next career move.
Jobs that match your criteria will be emailed to the email address of your choice the evening that the advertisers job vacancy is posted on FE Careers. All you need to do is check your email, if a job sounds interesting, click on it to go through to the job advert on the FE Careers site and if it looks interesting, click on the apply now button.
The ‘Jobs Via Email’ service is an ‘opt in’ automatic matching process. You, nor the advertiser are obliged to interview or offer the position because of the ‘Jobs Via Email’ service – so feel free to use this free tool to save your valuable time and let FE Careers do all the hard work for you.
What happens when I apply for a job on FE Careers?
Once you click the apply now button your CV and covering note are automatically sent to the advertiser. If you have already registered on FE Careers you can apply for several roles and also chose to receive the latest jobs that match your criteria via Jobs Via Email or our RSS service.
If you have selected to just apply for this one role, then you will have to fill in your details to apply for the next role (this is why we recommend subscribing to the free Job Seeker service, where you enter your details once and can choose for FE Careers to do the hard work for you by automatically matching your criteria with the criteria of the job advertiser.
Once you have applied for a role, all you need to do is wait for the advertiser to contact you to discuss the next stage of the application process. Once you have applied to an advertisers role, you have chosen for your CV and contact details to be emailed to the advertiser to contact you about the role.
As FE Careers is the job advertising platform for our advertisers, once you have applied for the position your application is with the advertiser and FE Careers are no longer involved in the application process.
How do I reach the organisation advertising the jobs?
The organisations contact details are above the apply now button. FE Careers are not the end advertiser, nor do we know anything about the role, please contact the advertiser direct if you require any further information. FE Careers.co.uk are the website that advertisers use to place their recruitment advertisements – so if you have any queries, please contact the advertiser direct.
If I upload my CV in my account on FE Careers, is this searchable on the internet or by advertisers?
Only you chose who will be emailed your CV. Your CV is only sent to advertisers who you select and chose to apply to (once you click apply, your CV will be automatically emailed to the advertiser). If you open a job seeker account, or send your CV in an individual basis to job adverts that you are interested in – only those advertisers who you have selected will receive your CV.
FE Careers take regular feedback from our Job Seeker subscribers and then feedback from our subscribers is that they do not wish for advertisers to be able to search a ‘CV database’ to find their details. Until we receive feedback with the majority of job seekers that are comfortable with a CV Database being released to advertisers – only then will we allow advertisers to have access to your CV.
At this time, we do not offer the CV database for advertiser’s to search, so your CV will only be able to be viewed by organisation that you chose to email your CV to or if you give your user name and password to someone to log into your account (which we do not recommend for you to do!)
